Camping and thoughts.

Home from camping holiday.

Feeling better after talking to Lyn (thank you). We laughed and played triominos and drank and ate and had fun. It was a good night... (LYN - Am I bovvered? does it look like I am bovvered he he he).

Camping was fun we went on Saturday and came back today but by yesterday afternoon THAT WAS IT I had had enough and wanted to be home. I had fun but had enough of the sun and had enough of the small bed and just plain had enough.

I have an amazing tan he he he and even my mum noticed when I got back and said so (OMG a miracle).

I weighed this afternoon and it was good (for being on holiday and not tracking) but I am going to wait till tomorrow morning because I weigh in the morning and I am not going to change that.

I have decided this year I am concentrating on me and not going to worry about what everyone else is doing. I am going to do things for me and my family.

I am going to book my mother and I on a croquet course for 6 weeks. We brought her a croquet set for Xmas and we don't know how to play it properly and she has wanted one for like OMG since I was a kid and never got one. So I saw it in the continuing education paper and it is on Thursday's from 9.30 to 11.00am and so I am going to drop off the kids and we are going to do this together. I think that if she can get out and meet other people then she might make some friends other than bingo friends and might meet some people her own age. She finds it hard and stays home a lot so this way I can try and get her out so that I can have a life too.

I have also wanted to learn how to play the game too and spend some time with mum other than shopping (which btw I REALLY HATE (not like you aye Chrish he he).)

Jeremy is looking at finding a night course for us to do as a couple and then the kids have their soccer, scouts, and Corbin is learning the saxaphone so this year is going to be full on.

I am going to concentrate on the weight loss but I need to also have a life that I am happy with and last year was a nightmare.

When I get down to 99.9 kilos Jeremy and I are going to go on a Kayaking course.

I want to do more of that sort of thing with the family and bike riding and maybe some tramping ?? not sure but might be interested in tramping?

Had a text from a work colleague yesterday about things happening at work and it made me paronoid (and really it shouldn't) it is just everytime I go on a fkn holiday something happens with my job in the last 3 years. First the owners of my creche sold to a big corporation (australian) and then the next year that corporation sold it to another bloody australian corporation and now they have some changes but it doesn't mean that I will lose my job and if I do well... will just have to find another one... simple as that. If I don't have a job we could lose our house etc but I can temp... and there are options and I have to keep on reminding myself of that.

Mind you my job is sending us up for a course in Akl (on my fkn annual leave I might add) for 2 nights and 2 days and they are paying so I would say that they wouldn't be doing that if they wanted to get rid of us wouldn't you say so? (I am a born worrier as most of you know but hubby keeps telling to stop).

I have done lots of swimming, reading, boogie boarding, walking, cleaning he he he, cooking and basically enjoying the holiday. Quinn's girlfriends mum texted us on Sunday and asked if we minded some visitors on Sunday and I said No and we had a great time. We took them to the bath tub races at Bowentown. Man I thought they would be amateaur things but there were motorised ones and some of them didn't even look like bath tubs and one group had team shirts etc matching the boat OMG it was sooo cool. But really hot to watch.

We took our blow up boat (with oars) he he and the kids had fun with that at Anzac bay and we swam out with them and it was nice.

I have one more week till I have to be back at the work place ho hum and not wanting to as I am enjoying the time away in the sun.

Anyway tired and thinking about going to bed early tonight.

Beautiful Doc Camping

What a fantastic weekend at Lake Rerewhakaaitu (between Rotorua and Murupara). We stayed in Doc land and it was right on thelake. The photo below is the awning on our caravan but we didn't put the sides up just then. Later on we put the ground mats and the sides so that Corbin stayed in there on the stretcher.

We were like 20 steps from the lake and what a beautiful sight from the caravan in the morning from our bed.

The only thing I didn't quite like was the long drop ewwwww... we have a portable toilet (for number one's only) but if we wanted to do anything else we had to go to the long drop NOPE NOPE NOPE.

The boys loved the lake... and so did I. I went for 2 swims and even got Jeremy in there (he doesn't like how cold it was he he).

Below is the FIL and MIL's House bus that they will be living in permanently from end of this year they think... It is a beauty in side with shower, toilet, little lounge and double bedroom. So nice. The kitchen was lovely too with oven and big fridge etc. On the outside there is even a BBQ that comes out of the side he he he (a picture further down with Quinn cooking off it).We went for a 45 minute bush walk through to the next camp ground it was a beautiful walk and FIL was showing the boys some plants and their names etc it was great.
When we got back from the walk the friends of the FIL and MIL had their granddaughters and family turn up so the boys had fun playing with the two little girls. The little girls got upset when they had to leave as they were having so much fun.
Quinn below cooking on the BBQ. Little monkey.
Now don't we look relaxed. The caravan was from the friends of FIL and MIL and Jeremy is taking the photo from our caravan. We made like a little circle to make a cosy camp ground. And we had a couple of drinks too he he he.

Below is my father in law and step mother in law having a couple of drinks and it was hard enough getting this photo as she hates photos being taken.

This morning the boys didn't wake till 7.45 so that was good. I expected Corbin to be a pain in the butt and wake up earlier than that and wake everyone up. We found Quinn on the floor asleep... not sure how he managed that but oh well.
We had breakfast and then went for a swim in the lake. Before that though I had coffee in bed and read my book and my magazine and itwas great to just relax and not have my mother there saying... do this and do that to the kids and me and Jeremy... just peace.. no tv on (mum puts the tv on and then goes and does stuff... wtf is up with that I don't know) I am forever turning the tv off when she isn't in the room.
After the swim the boys came back and as you can see Corbin was reading and Quinn eating... he he that are my boys. Corbin read 2 books since Saturday morning and Quinn is always eating and not much interested in reading etc or sitting still he he he.
I said to Jeremy on Thursday that we needed to check the tyres because one of them wasn't right... well I got the shit for that... there is nothing wrong with the tyre it just need air. I said no it is wobbling when you drive by we... can you see below everyone!!! can ya can ya.. On the way home the tyre BLEW!!!
Yep... it BLEW and when we stopped another guy stopped to help he lived down the road but Jeremy said "that is fine mate thanks but we should be fine" YEAH RIGHT!!!! Got the jack out of the car put it under the caravan to take it up and it buckled OMFG... another guy about 2 sec's later stopped to help and he was a guy in his 50's and his wife (coming back from Hamilton seeing their daughter) and they did a u'e and came to help OMG there are some nice people out there.
So he helped Jeremy to jack the caravan up with the legs of the caravan and his jack and put the spare on... OMFG you wouldn't have guessed it he he he that tyre went flat. It wasn't flat before hand... because I was sitting on it waiting for the guys to get the caravan jacked up. It must have been pinched up or something... so we had no tyre. So the guy and his wife left and Jeremy took the car off the caravan and left me alone with the caravan and him and the boys went to Tirau to see what they could do...
Sat there and out the window there was a car towing a caravan driving past and then up the road it stopped I was freaaaaaaaaaaaaaking out as it turned around... now there is no car towing our caravan so I was thinking I bloody hope they don't think they are going to steal some of my caravan for themselves and then they slowly drove past and my heart stopped and I had tears down my face.... because it was the friends of my FIL and MIL going home from our camping bloody hell I was releaved. We were parked outside this farm house and there were people in there with big dogs and the house looked lovely and cared for and they drove down the drive way and didnt even bother to ask if we needed help or a phone GEESH there are also some horrible people around as well. Karma is all I can say.
So I gave these friends a huge hug and told them what happened and Jeremy turned up with the boys at the same time and the garage at Tirau wasn't opened so there was no fixture for the tyre GEESHHH... but the friends gave us their spare tyre as they only lived about 10 minutes away woohooooooo how great is that. It got us home so tomorrow we are going to get the tyres fixed, new jack and I have to also get to the place where I buy paper to get paper for Lee-Annes wedding invites if not I will go on Tuesday because I have to get the tyres done so that I can go and take the tyre back to the lovelllly people.....
It was great to see Lee-Anne on Friday with her hubby to be and daughter.

The tyre was chewed wasn't it..... OMG
Anyway had to do an update as I need to go and have a bath and get some sleep as I am tired as.
Now I know this is weird but while I was in the caravan I kept thinking FIL's friends will come I just know and it was them... The book of Secrets says "believe and you will recieve" OMG it sure was fantastic today.... I am certainly going to really start doing what I can our of that book.
Food was ok over the weekend.. but not wonderful but hey that is life. I have till Wednesday till my weigh in. I will be DAMN perfect for the next couple of days. I did 7 days of exercise in this last week and I tracked every day (apart from Saturday and part of Sunday)... I should be ok.... cross your fingers for me.

Labour Weekend Camping

Friday

Had to get up early because we had to take the kids to school.

I took them to school while Jeremy got the caravan stuff ready for our trip.

Mum was in such a funny mood and snappy with us until we left to go to Grandparents day at Brianna’s school. We got to Brianna and Adam school and there were a lot of grandparents there… felt quite young really. Brianna was soooo excited we were there and then took us down to Adam class where he showed us his writing and pictures and we asked him questions and then it was outside to a show that the school was putting on with folk dancing and the older kids hip hop dancing… and we were back to Brianna’s class and she got me to do some art work with her… well for her he he he and I said to her teacher that she was getting me to do all the work and he laughed tooo funny. It was fun art stuff because we were doing like Hindu squiggle things all over the border of her painting… in the end it looked fabulous (if I must say so myself).

Got back home and found out why mum was soooo mad with me… she was mad because she thought that we had taken the kids to a friends place to look after them while we went to Brianna and Adam’s school… and when we got back in she said “don’t you trust me to look after my grand children? I was going to phone your friends to find out who was looking after them?” and I said to her “they are at school mum it is a Friday and I wouldn’t take to other peoples houses unless they had to go somewhere where you couldn’t drive and you know that and if you had bothered to tell me why you were pissed off then this could have been solved 3 hours ago and you wouldn’t have spent the whole morning seething.” She didn’t say a word OMG how stubborn is that.

Anyway we picked up the boys from school and came home to finish all the little bits and bods before heading off to Waihi… and before we started off we got a phone call from Tania saying “have you put your awning up yet?” I said “no we haven’t left home yet” she seemed mad because I think she wanted us to put up her tent… nope nope nope wasn’t going to happen”.

It was a nice drive to Waihi and the weather was absolutely gorgeous and the boys were really good on the way down and didn’t fight or anything… we put on a dvd of Tom and Jerry cartoon and so that kept them occupied. On the way over we got a cell phone call from Tania telling us she was behind us.

We got to the camping ground around 5 o’clock and the camp owner showed us to the site and OMG I don’t know how Jeremy was going to get in to the spot and then another camp person came and helped us guide him because I wouldn’t have a clue the spring on the caravan at the front little wheel on the tow bar part broke grrrr so we have to be really careful taking the caravan back and Jeremy’s dad is going to get it replaced. The tent next to us were about 6 big blokes watching a rugby came on tv and they came over to help us push the caravan back a little more as the car couldn’t get there as there was another car in the way…. It was really nice of them to do that as I don’t know how we would have done it. I didn’t realise how big the caravan was until we tried to back it up.

Got the awning up and put everything in the caravan in it’s right place and got the boys bed’s set up and then we went in to Waihi Beach shops to get fish and chips for dinner and as we were there we heard the lady behind the counter say “order for Lyn” and Jeremy said I won’t if it is the blogger Lyn and then this girl (about 12) cam across the road and OMG does she look like her mum so I was cheeky and texted Lyn saying “so you are having fish and chips for dinner then huh he he he and in the next breath she was outside and we went over there with our fish and chips and spent the night talking and drinking it was a great relaxed night chatting away until Quinny was starting to get a little tired so we thought it has been a long day we should take him back to the tent… OH I forgot to mention that Tania phoned us when we had were just going to start our dinner saying that she was having problems with putting the kids stretchers up and I said “well we are having dinner at the moment but after dinner Jeremy will come out and help but we are at a friends place so can’t stay” so Jeremy took the boys out there and sorted it out and I stayed chatting to Lyn and Bill… what a nice guy he is and soooo easy to get on with… well done Lyn ya trained him well he he he us women have to train them aye he he he.

Got home about 10.00 and put the boys to bed and then Jeremy and I watched a DVD in bed but didn’t get to see the whole thing as it was too late for us and our little eyes were closing…

THEN>>>> OMG at 3am in the morning sirens started going off… but the kids didn’t wake up but my heart was beating so fast as I was scared it was like being in the 1940’s with air raids going off. Jeremy seemed to think it was the fire sirens but OMG do they not know that there are such things as pagers in this day and age… It took me about 45 minutes to get back to sleep because I was shaken up by it all..

Saturday

Boys got up about 7.30 and we just didn’t want to get out of bed so we stayed in bed and then they tried to get in with us… now if you can imagine… a husband that is only 14 kilos lighter than me and me and it is a BARELY double bed and two kid as well arghhhhh but it was also kinda cool as we opened the curtain at the head of the bed and watched up at the trees and the berries on the trees and how beautiful the weather was with the sun coming through… it was a nice time.

Got up to get breakfast ready and realised that we didn’t even have a spatula to turn the eggs or anything to light the gas hobs so we had to go to Waihi to the supermarket to get stuff and brought some extra things like a cheese slicer and tongs and a gas lighter stuff for dinner tonight as we are going to Lyn and Bills again woohoooo for dinner and came back and had our breakfast it was yummy… and I worked out how to get online at the caravan BLOODY exciting.. now I can understand how excited ChrisH was when she was doing it in the cafĂ© etc in Palmy… I was like a child in the candy store because my beloved laptop was working on the internet.

Did the dishes and read a book for a while and relaxed then when our tummies were less full we went to the hot pools here at the camping ground and the boys enjoyed themselves so much and to be honest I felt more relaxed in togs than I did last time we were here and I had new togs (smaller size he he he) and I didn’t like my thighs in them but what fat woman does aye he he he.

We came back and got dressed and then went to the beach where I got some really cool photos and hubby and I snuggled on the beach while the boys had so much fun digging and getting wet and just having fun. It is better now that they can look after themselves and entertain themselves. (oh and we had lunch before we did that... it felt great making the buns and talking and sitting watching all the families walking past.

We are now just relaxing and it is 4.20pm in the caravan. Corbin is playing on Jeremy’s laptop The Incredibles game and Quinn is watching a dvd and as you can tell I am on my laptop and Jeremy is reading his book… it is nice and relaxing and we have been on the go all day so going on computers etc doesn’t bother me because we should be doing things that make us happy on holiday aye.

I was saying to Jeremy that I want to be here the whole week… don’t wanna go home. It is like you just get used to being here in the 3 days and things are in a routine and then you have to pack up and go to normal life SHIT!!!!

Well we have a caravan trip planned for end of January/February for up in Whangarei area and then in Easter we are back in Bowentown… but not in a caravan but in a cabin so that should be fun. Even though Tania and her family will be there I am sure that this time we are going to do our own dinners etc because I am not giving my kids sausages every night for 5 nights like we had to last time because Tania was having everything her own way.

So we are off to Lyn’s place at 6pm and until then I am going to do some digital scrapbooking and relax relax relax.

Had a GREAT time at Lyn's place and the time went soooo fast. The boys were on their best behaviour and had fun in Lyn's room on their gym equipment but I must admit I was sitting there thinking... boys don't touch don't touch he he he like any mother would do aye.

It feels like we have known Lyn and Bill for like 10 years and the conversation was always going on . We had fun on Lyn's computer later on and did morphing on it too and laughed out heads off.

Got back to the caravan with the kids at 11pm OUCH... was sooo hoping that the boys weren't going to be snots the next day that is for sure.

Goodnight

Haven't updated... naughty me.

I haven't updated since Tuesday OMG didn't realise that I hadn't. No... I have not gone off tracking (as that is what usually happens when I don't update every day). I have been a little too relaxed but I have been tracking. I am thinking that I am going to either lose just a small amount of 100 grams or gain hmmm not sure...

Last night was full on with Corbin and his soccer photos and Jeremy's Dad and Stepmum came over to tell us certain things about the caravan and how to put up the awning and all about the gas and all the things that we need to know OMG OMG I know Jeremy will remember it all but it went over my head some of the stuff arghhhh.

Today I went to the school to do Quinn's class spelling and then picked up mum to go and do the shopping for the weekend. There is soooo many things I thought about when I went like... I bought toothpaste and toothbrushes for us all to stay in the caravan so that we don't have to keep packing them when we want to go away and I brought some spices so they can stay in the caravan as well.

This afternoon is my coffee afternoon with the girls and I cannot wait as I haven't done it in like 4 weeks because of school holidays and being sick the last 2 weeks arghhhhh.... so it will be great to catch up with them.

I have gotten back in to my digital scrapbooking as I said in my last post and getting hooked again it feels great. It is feeling great and creative and I am feeling inspired. Can't wait to go away for the weekend and trying some new things on my laptop (as I don't have the internet I have to have something to do on here he he he) after updating so I can upload it on Monday that is... can't not write down about my day or I will forget.

Will write more tonight.

Sunday!!!!

Got up late this morning as I didn't go to sleep till late as I was in a lot of pain with my calf muscle last night. OMG I haven't had that much pain ever! But last night was really bad.

Got up and did a spring clean of our bedroom and ensuite and then the kids came up to annoy us and ended up helping us it was great to have them help and not moan he he he.

We then went down and had breakfast and we all went for a bike ride. I was in a little bit of pain getting on the bike but it was better than going for a walk because on a bike you can glide in parts... so I got a little bit of exercise woohooo as it has been a week with no exercise and I was hanging out for it.

When we went to the shops we go a fruju iceblock each and an old friend of ours saw us sitting on the bench and came over to chat. It was good catching up with her (she is the reason hubby and I got together 18 years ago) so it brought back some memories and we don't live that far from each other so we will have to catch up again. She goes mountain biking with her family and she isn't a skinny thing either so we might join them as a family one day it would be great.

Tania came over after lunch and we went food shopping for our camping trip Easter at Bowentown. I can't wait it is going to be great there are three families going and all with kids the same age so woohoo for us. I brought a magazine and taking a book and my cross stitch and then I am sorted for the weekend he he.

Went to Tania's for dinner tonight.. hmmm nice pork roast yummmy. It was a relaxing night. Her hubby wasn't there but sometimes that is a good thing as he makes it a little tense and I don't think he is a very sociable person usually. Tania, hubby and I had a good time.

Anyway going to go and make a camping list argghhhh so many things to do in so little time he he he. Beach here we come.

Love ya all
