Labour Weekend Camping

Friday

Had to get up early because we had to take the kids to school.

I took them to school while Jeremy got the caravan stuff ready for our trip.

Mum was in such a funny mood and snappy with us until we left to go to Grandparents day at Brianna’s school. We got to Brianna and Adam school and there were a lot of grandparents there… felt quite young really. Brianna was soooo excited we were there and then took us down to Adam class where he showed us his writing and pictures and we asked him questions and then it was outside to a show that the school was putting on with folk dancing and the older kids hip hop dancing… and we were back to Brianna’s class and she got me to do some art work with her… well for her he he he and I said to her teacher that she was getting me to do all the work and he laughed tooo funny. It was fun art stuff because we were doing like Hindu squiggle things all over the border of her painting… in the end it looked fabulous (if I must say so myself).

Got back home and found out why mum was soooo mad with me… she was mad because she thought that we had taken the kids to a friends place to look after them while we went to Brianna and Adam’s school… and when we got back in she said “don’t you trust me to look after my grand children? I was going to phone your friends to find out who was looking after them?” and I said to her “they are at school mum it is a Friday and I wouldn’t take to other peoples houses unless they had to go somewhere where you couldn’t drive and you know that and if you had bothered to tell me why you were pissed off then this could have been solved 3 hours ago and you wouldn’t have spent the whole morning seething.” She didn’t say a word OMG how stubborn is that.

Anyway we picked up the boys from school and came home to finish all the little bits and bods before heading off to Waihi… and before we started off we got a phone call from Tania saying “have you put your awning up yet?” I said “no we haven’t left home yet” she seemed mad because I think she wanted us to put up her tent… nope nope nope wasn’t going to happen”.

It was a nice drive to Waihi and the weather was absolutely gorgeous and the boys were really good on the way down and didn’t fight or anything… we put on a dvd of Tom and Jerry cartoon and so that kept them occupied. On the way over we got a cell phone call from Tania telling us she was behind us.

We got to the camping ground around 5 o’clock and the camp owner showed us to the site and OMG I don’t know how Jeremy was going to get in to the spot and then another camp person came and helped us guide him because I wouldn’t have a clue the spring on the caravan at the front little wheel on the tow bar part broke grrrr so we have to be really careful taking the caravan back and Jeremy’s dad is going to get it replaced. The tent next to us were about 6 big blokes watching a rugby came on tv and they came over to help us push the caravan back a little more as the car couldn’t get there as there was another car in the way…. It was really nice of them to do that as I don’t know how we would have done it. I didn’t realise how big the caravan was until we tried to back it up.

Got the awning up and put everything in the caravan in it’s right place and got the boys bed’s set up and then we went in to Waihi Beach shops to get fish and chips for dinner and as we were there we heard the lady behind the counter say “order for Lyn” and Jeremy said I won’t if it is the blogger Lyn and then this girl (about 12) cam across the road and OMG does she look like her mum so I was cheeky and texted Lyn saying “so you are having fish and chips for dinner then huh he he he and in the next breath she was outside and we went over there with our fish and chips and spent the night talking and drinking it was a great relaxed night chatting away until Quinny was starting to get a little tired so we thought it has been a long day we should take him back to the tent… OH I forgot to mention that Tania phoned us when we had were just going to start our dinner saying that she was having problems with putting the kids stretchers up and I said “well we are having dinner at the moment but after dinner Jeremy will come out and help but we are at a friends place so can’t stay” so Jeremy took the boys out there and sorted it out and I stayed chatting to Lyn and Bill… what a nice guy he is and soooo easy to get on with… well done Lyn ya trained him well he he he us women have to train them aye he he he.

Got home about 10.00 and put the boys to bed and then Jeremy and I watched a DVD in bed but didn’t get to see the whole thing as it was too late for us and our little eyes were closing…

THEN>>>> OMG at 3am in the morning sirens started going off… but the kids didn’t wake up but my heart was beating so fast as I was scared it was like being in the 1940’s with air raids going off. Jeremy seemed to think it was the fire sirens but OMG do they not know that there are such things as pagers in this day and age… It took me about 45 minutes to get back to sleep because I was shaken up by it all..

Saturday

Boys got up about 7.30 and we just didn’t want to get out of bed so we stayed in bed and then they tried to get in with us… now if you can imagine… a husband that is only 14 kilos lighter than me and me and it is a BARELY double bed and two kid as well arghhhhh but it was also kinda cool as we opened the curtain at the head of the bed and watched up at the trees and the berries on the trees and how beautiful the weather was with the sun coming through… it was a nice time.

Got up to get breakfast ready and realised that we didn’t even have a spatula to turn the eggs or anything to light the gas hobs so we had to go to Waihi to the supermarket to get stuff and brought some extra things like a cheese slicer and tongs and a gas lighter stuff for dinner tonight as we are going to Lyn and Bills again woohoooo for dinner and came back and had our breakfast it was yummy… and I worked out how to get online at the caravan BLOODY exciting.. now I can understand how excited ChrisH was when she was doing it in the cafĂ© etc in Palmy… I was like a child in the candy store because my beloved laptop was working on the internet.

Did the dishes and read a book for a while and relaxed then when our tummies were less full we went to the hot pools here at the camping ground and the boys enjoyed themselves so much and to be honest I felt more relaxed in togs than I did last time we were here and I had new togs (smaller size he he he) and I didn’t like my thighs in them but what fat woman does aye he he he.

We came back and got dressed and then went to the beach where I got some really cool photos and hubby and I snuggled on the beach while the boys had so much fun digging and getting wet and just having fun. It is better now that they can look after themselves and entertain themselves. (oh and we had lunch before we did that... it felt great making the buns and talking and sitting watching all the families walking past.

We are now just relaxing and it is 4.20pm in the caravan. Corbin is playing on Jeremy’s laptop The Incredibles game and Quinn is watching a dvd and as you can tell I am on my laptop and Jeremy is reading his book… it is nice and relaxing and we have been on the go all day so going on computers etc doesn’t bother me because we should be doing things that make us happy on holiday aye.

I was saying to Jeremy that I want to be here the whole week… don’t wanna go home. It is like you just get used to being here in the 3 days and things are in a routine and then you have to pack up and go to normal life SHIT!!!!

Well we have a caravan trip planned for end of January/February for up in Whangarei area and then in Easter we are back in Bowentown… but not in a caravan but in a cabin so that should be fun. Even though Tania and her family will be there I am sure that this time we are going to do our own dinners etc because I am not giving my kids sausages every night for 5 nights like we had to last time because Tania was having everything her own way.

So we are off to Lyn’s place at 6pm and until then I am going to do some digital scrapbooking and relax relax relax.

Had a GREAT time at Lyn's place and the time went soooo fast. The boys were on their best behaviour and had fun in Lyn's room on their gym equipment but I must admit I was sitting there thinking... boys don't touch don't touch he he he like any mother would do aye.

It feels like we have known Lyn and Bill for like 10 years and the conversation was always going on . We had fun on Lyn's computer later on and did morphing on it too and laughed out heads off.

Got back to the caravan with the kids at 11pm OUCH... was sooo hoping that the boys weren't going to be snots the next day that is for sure.

Goodnight

Day 25 - L Challenge

Got up and hubby coloured my hair this morning and streaked it and then went down for breakfast and did the chores and went and got the groceries. OMG I had grocery shopping it bores me silly he he he.

Came home and went for a bike ride with the boys it was a nice day.

Took the boys to their Grandmothers place at 3pm woohooo so they were staying the night there so that we can sleep in... in the morning woohooo.

Came back from dropping them off and spent a hour in bed just relaxing and reading my magazine... and if any of you have children you know that reading a magazine is hard when you have kids around (but I didn't woohooo he he he he).....

Hubby straightened my hair for the night and I got dressed up for dinner and felt quite pretty tonight. I don't usually wear white or anything with a pattern on it so I felt quite good.

Met everyone at the restaurant and we all got on so well and didn't stop talking the whole time. I really enjoyed myself and enjoyed the company and the food. I don't think I ate too much and didn't feel over full or anything. Delwyn and I had a Cosmopolitan and a Dragonfly cocktails and was having fun.

Lee-Anne and Colin came and it was soooo great to see them both and I am so glad that she came over. She was the only blogger that was there but both her and Colin fitted in well with everyone... what a wonderful couple they are.

My friend Pam came (the friend that just got separated and having trouble with her ex) and she enjoyed herself. It was nice to see her come out of her shell and chat and I think she had a great night.

There was my friend Delwyn who I used to go with to my Lean group and then there was Marina and David who are the parents of one of my son's friends. I really enjoy spending time with Marina she is one of the ones I go to afternoon tea with on a Thursday.

So anyway we started at 7pm and left the restaurant at 11.30 woohooo and got home at about 12 because we took Delwyn home. I really enjoyed myself.

Took the damn camera and then left it in the bloody car GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR was annoyed as I wanted some photo's but I am sure that Lyn will send me a copy of the one on her cell phone (that we texted to ChrisH he he he and said that here were the two tarts in Hamilton he he). How funny was that... Poor Chris (we still wuv ya).

I had a great night!! I am so happy that it was a great night!

Tomorrow morning hubby said that he would make me breakfast in bread and I want some grainy bread with poached eggs and salmon OHHHHH yummy.

Anyway goodnight everyone it is 12.30 and I am watching the rugby with All Blacks against Italy so far it is 43 against NIL (to us he he)... they aren't that good.

Chris H's Party 3 August 2007

Where to start....

The weekend was fabulous and it was also great to get away with hubby without the kids. We took the boys to school on Friday morning and then left for Palmerston North.... what a beautiful day to travel.

Decided that we would get lunch in Taupo so we stopped and went to the loo and then looked at the CD store down there and brought the Colbie Caillat CD and a CD for hubby and OMG Colbie is sooo great I love the CD.

Went to Woolworths and decided to be good and get stuff to make a salad sandwich and brought a little loaf of bread and had homemade sandwiches by Lake Taupo in the sun and it was nice.

We had chicken, lettuce, tomatoe, avocado it was soooo nice and decided that I would txt Lee-ane and Lyn to see where they were and they were in Taupo too so we kept texting to say where we were and then stopped at the top of the desert road to go to the toilet and the two must have gotten in front of us because when we got a bit further I said to hubby that I think they are two cars in front of us.... so we txt them and they started waving out the windows it was too funny because the guy in the car behind them must have thought they were nuts he he he. We all stopped for a coffee and a chat and it was really great to stop for a break and catch up with these wonderful ladies that is for sure.

Chubbymum, Lee-Anne and Lyn just after stopping for a coffee.

Got to Palmerston North about 4.30 and met up at Chris H place so we could drop off food for the party on Saturday night and then Hubby and I went to the Motel to put our things there and then went and met up with some work mates of his it was nice to meet them.

For dinner we got Indian and took it back to the Motel and OMG it was wayyy wayyy too much food and didn't realise that I cannot eat that much anymore. We got two different dishes with rice and so I only had two small bowls of food but I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach he he he so the night sleep wasn't good at all and I vowed never never never to do that again...

Saturday morning we got up and had a shower and then went in to town to see what we could get for breakfast... it was great to spend time with each other it is such a rare thing that when we get the chance it is fantastic. We went to Robert Harris and had a cooked breakfast and coffee and sat and chatted for about 2 hours and then decided it was time to check out the shops and see what we could see for the boys birthdays but we couldn't find much... so headed on back to the motel to get changed for the party..

I was soooo nervous about meeting everyone again and I think that was because they are such a wonderful bunch and I wanted maybe to measure up ya know....

Above Chris taking a photo of my hubby taking a photo he he he

Lee-anne sitting there waiting for everyone to arrive...
I reckon we were all nervous at this time he he he.

Lyn looking nervous too in her beautiful new top...

Janene and her daughter Jorja (hope I have spelt it right he he)

Felicity making a lovely platter of fresh fruit yummmy

We got on soooo well and everything went so fast and I drank way way way too much but half way decided to slow down and then start drinking again about an hour later.

The Christmas presents were sooo funny because we could go and choose a present but then if we liked what someone else had we could swap and so I felt really bad (afterwards) that I swapped with Helena as I didn't really want a box with $5 in it he he he I wanted a present he he he but as you can see below Helena wasn't happy he he he he...

It wasn't long before Lynise decided she didn't want her and so she took the present that I took off her and so I started them all off... he he he he and there were a couple of swaps it was sooo funny so thanks Janene for suggesting to Chris to do it that way it was great.

It was a interesting night and we didn't stop laughing and drinking and eating and being merry and the conversation was never EVER dull and it was always going it was great. I had a couple of great chats outside with Lyn and really enjoyed getting to know her a little more. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone more and it was fantastic and they are a really great bunch of girls.

I made two bottles with everyones face on it and christmas hats on their heads

Lyn came up with the idea of going through everyone and people saying whether you thought they were the same in person as they were on their blog and some interesting things came up on that... apparently I am quite intense on my blog he he he and in person I am not I am bubbly so that is quite interesting..

I always thought that what I was writing was exactly how I sound and how I talk to people. Hubby and I were discussing it on the way home on Sunday as I couldn't quite get how I was different but I suppose when you read someone it is how you are reading it and not how they are thinking it sounds or something like that.... so when I started this I was wondering how I actually wrote and was it how I come across... quite an interesting thing I thought.

It was also good to see that Janene got a couple of drinks in her and actually talked it was nice to talk to her and she just loves dancing and got everyone up dancing it was great to get some exercise in he he he instead of sitting eating and talking he he he...

Got up the next morning feeling a little ikky but I think that was the food more than the drinking and met Helena, Rachel and Felicity at Ezibuy to have a coffee and breakfast and it was great looking at clothes with people that understood how hard it is to find clothes that look great on bigger people but it was also great to go shopping and to help others when they didn't know whether the colour was right either... I am going to miss these girls and without their blogs it would be even harder.

I am soooo glad we are all friends and go on so well.

But I will leave the girls with this... I wonder how Lynise's night went he he he he she got that phone call and she was off like a shot he he he... hmmmm juicy news come on Lynise tell all he he he.

First Soccer games for 2007 and Meeting up with Lee-Anne

I am sooo sooo proud of my sons today...

I went to Quinn's soccer game today and Hubby went to Corbin's...

It was Quinn's first ever soccer game and I was sooooo proud of him and his team because they had one half hour practice and that was it. I am proud no because of goals because they didn't get any... the other team got 12 though he he he...

I am proud because my little monkey Quinn tried his very best and he ran after the ball and he played well with his team mates and he was a little star. Even though he didn't get a goal he was right there trying.

At one stage I thought I was going to wet myself (actually two stages he he he)... First... the coach picked up Quinn and placed him in position and also did it with 2 other boys and then he said play... and Quinn stayed there he he he he stayed put and didn't move and the other boys were going after the ball... and the parents (us) were all laughing our heads off and screaming at Quinn... come on Quinn move move.. .and he looked at me and mouthed... "but the Coach put me here I can't move" and I started laughing and laughing. I know that you probably wouldn't think it was funny but I was sooo proud of him.

Look at him at the front there taking that ball... woooohoooo Quinny.

Hubby went to Corbin's game and in the middle of it the text he sent me was "C is on Fire... he is a champ". Apparently he almost got 3 goals... (now my little man is usually the supporting player where he is in the middle of it and always sends it to the one of the kids that he knows gets goals... but he was trying today to not be just that boy and to try and get a goals)... wow his Dad was sooo proud.

We came home and had lunch and then went out for a great walk with the boys and went to the school playground and while we were there we played soccer and I actually ran to get the ball off Corbin and we played teams etc it was sooo much fun. We treated the boys with and icecream and walked home and now we are just chilling he he he...

I have had a great day just being with my family and enjoying our time.

.........................................................................................................................................................

I didn't have time last night to update my blog about how GREAT and FUN my Friday night was.

We met Lee-anne at her hotel in town and had a glass of bubbly and then went to dinner at Lonestar and I had lots to drink (for me it is a lot because I don't drink that much he he he). The night was great and we didn't have a time where we didn't know what to say.

What a great man Lee-anne has and he seems to really adore her. It was really great to meet him and have a fun night. After dinner we all went to the casino for a little while to do a little bit of (losing money) he he he and then it was off home for us because of the soccer this morning...

Thank you Lee-anne and Colin for such a great night. I hope we can do it again sometime.
